MONUMENT TO OFFICER MICHAEL JENSEN AND
LT. MICHAEL HOOSOCK INSTALLED April 14, 2026
Thank you for helping us to honor and memorialize two men who gave their lives in service to our community. This monument to Lieutenant Michael Hoosock (Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department) and Tipp Hill neighbor, Officer Michael Jensen (Syracuse Police Department) will ensure that the sacrifice they made in the line of duty will never be forgotten.
The “Call to Duty” bronze* statue is being customized to include a patch on each sleeve— one for the Syracuse Police Department and one for the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department. The law enforcement officer who is paying tribute to the men will wear a single badge that represents both departments.

The monument will include a bronze statue of a member of law enforcement on bended knee, holding a folded American flag. It will be positioned on top of a granite base. On the left side of the base, there will be a tribute to Lieutenant Hoosock. On the right side of the base, a tribute to Officer Jensen. Officer Jensen’s shield will face Avery Avenue and Lieutenant Hoosock’s shield will face the Arboretum.
